The 9/11 Truth was born practically immediately after the shocking attacks occurred on 9/11/2001.
The implausibility of official version, of governement explanation, came immediately into view.
Withing weeks, first investigative websites were created, challenging the official version.
Within a year, well researched books and DVDs began to appear. But these initial attempts to uncover the secret never caught the attention of a general public.
As evidence of government complicity continued to increase, general public's interest continued to fade away.
2006, year of hopes, of public talk.
Suddenly, mainstream began airing programs, interviews discussing and questionning official version of 9/11 attacks.
It all started with Alex Jones, http://PrisonPlanet.com, interviewing Charlie Sheen on March 20, 2006.
Sheen stated concerns, that there is a government coverup of 9/11. Some of his comments were picked up by CNN's Showbiz Tonight, which did 3-part series with words from Webster Tarpley, author of Synthetic Terror, Mike Berger, spokesman of http://911Truth.org, the central site of the whole movement, together with http://911Blogger.com, and lately http://AE911Truth.org, founded by Architect Ricgard Gage, most visible autority of the latest.
Participating on the series were also Sharon Stone and Erica Jong.
Suddenly, it was hip to publicly question the official version of 9/11. The Sheen 9/11 truth phenomenon ended with ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live show, his comments prompted a genuine round of applause.
Then, CSPAN aired live 9/11 and the Neocon Agenda National Education and Research Center conference in Los Angeles on June 24-25, 2006. Hosted by Alex Jones, panelists BYU Professor Steven Jones, Webster Tarpley, philosophy professor Jim Fetzer and ret Col. Bob Bowman, USAF, former head of Star Wars program.
CNN Lou Dobbs, Aug 10, 2006, responding to critical revelations in the book "Without Precedent:Inside the 9/11 Commission" by former Commission heads Lee Hamilton and Thomas Keane, observed : Bush Administration continues to perpetuate a lie, and this suggests we need a full investigation into what is demostrably an incompetent, and at worst, deceitful federal government.
Dedicated 9/11 Truthers felt on Sept 11, 2006, that after 5 years, public pressure ang high profile media attention will compel a new, objective investigation.
2007, the momentum fizzled away.
Early in 2007, official national media dropped 9/11 Truth issue for 2008 national election campaing, where 9/11 is off limits.
At this time, 84% of Americans believed the government was not telling the truth.
